Lookback at the Issy-les-Moulineaux Graduation Ceremony, class of 2021/2022 Gisèle Halimi!

This time, it was in the Simone Veil amphitheatre of the Faculty of Law in Issy-les-Moulineaux that the Graduation Ceremony took place. This was of course a nod to Gisèle Halimi, after whom the class of 2021/2022 was named, as the two women shared a passion for defending women’s rights and together founded the Choisir association. It was also an opportunity for parents to take a behind-the-scenes look at the place where their child learned his or her future profession as a lawyer.

The parents were the first to arrive in the hall to watch their child climb the steps, and they were treated to a band of musicians who entertained the students as they prepared for the short hour in their gowns and caps. This is always a very emotional moment for them, as it marks the end of a cycle, and above all, the culmination of 5 years of intense studies that will propel them straight into the professional world.

The students then returned to the room, where the entire faculty had also taken their seats, and the event finally got under way, hosted by our two mistresses of ceremony: Suzette Gomes, Head of Corporate Relations, and Tiphaine Cailleteau, Head of Studies. The event was hosted by Dean Ioannis Panoussis, as well as the Mayor of Issy-les-Moulineaux, Mr Santini, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law, Christophe Bellon, and Jean-Marc Assié, Director General of Development and Strategy at the Institut Catholique de Lille.

Some of our 159 graduates were also part of the Child Auditor Graduate Diploma created by Blandine Mallevaey, and were the first class to graduate. Symbolically, on the same day, a partnership agreement was signed between the IDFP and its Vice-President, Anne-Marion de Cayeux, and the Faculty of Law represented by Dean Ioannis Panoussis.

The 3 valedictorians were then rewarded for their efforts and each received an exceptional prize donated by our partners Dalloz and Furet du Nord, while for the second year running, 3 exceptional student associations were put in the spotlight: the most committed with Le Cercle, the most committed with Issy Solidaire and the most promising with Res Publica.

The ceremony finished with the symbolic cap toss! The evening continued with a glass of champagne, during which our teaching and administrative staff had time to chat with the families and talk about their child’s career at our Faculty. It was a ceremony worthy of these young graduates, who, with their heads full of memories, are now ready to jump into the world of work. A big well done to them and to all the teams who helped make this event so unique, especially Mrs Armelle Leroy, Alumni Manager.
