An evening dedicated to our students’ parents !

On Monday 23 October, the Faculty of Law welcomed 60 parents on campus and 180 online, to provide them with information about their new student’s arrival at our Faculty. The aim of this meeting was to review the first few weeks of integration, by looking back at what we call the “transition Unit”, and to give them ideas and advice for the rest of this first year. Each parent was made aware of how they can contribute to their child’s success.

Many questions were asked about how to register for the methodological workshops, as well as for internships and student jobs. International mobility was also explored in greater depth by our teachers: annual and semester mobility, mobility organised by the student outside our organisation, mobility offered via Erasmus, particularly on the question of conditions and services for going abroad during studies. Finally, the conditions for international internships and the existence of a dedicated service to support students were also at the heart of the evening’s debates.

This evening was also a chance to discuss digital technology and the integration of these digital tools in our courses, but also how it contributes to helping students in their studies.

Support for students with difficulties at the start of the semester was, as it is every year, a major issue for parents who need to be reassured and who want their child to have the best possible support as they embark on their new university life.

Finally, the headmistress of the French lycée of Johannesburg, mother of a 1st Year Bachelor Student, offered to help students find work placements in her country, South Africa. This is a great opportunity for our students and we would like to thank her for this offer.

The special evening was a great opportunity to reassure our parents, and we are delighted to offer parents who were unable to attend the discussion the chance to rediscover it through the replay.
